Why “Xiangzi”?
“Xiangzi” means “acorn” in Chinese. An acorn is small enough to hold in one hand, yet it carries the potential to become a great oak tree.
We chose this name because we believe that a company’s digital transformation is like planting an acorn: it takes time, patience and the right approach to take root.
We want to work with our clients, starting with one need, one system or one use case, to plant their own “digital acorn.” As technology becomes part of everyday operations, it can grow into something much more valuable.

Our team
Xiangzi Information has three co-founders with backgrounds spanning integrated circuits, electronic engineering and computer engineering. Their work covers algorithms, underlying systems, software products and AI applications.
Frank holds a master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. His research experience includes large language models and vision-language models, and he has worked on AI code generation and model fine-tuning. At Xiangzi, he focuses on AI applications and product development.
Tony holds a master’s degree in Integrated Circuits from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His work spans algorithms, deep learning and complex systems optimization, with research, patent and engineering experience. At Xiangzi, he focuses on technical development and implementation.
Jennifer studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Toronto, focusing on software engineering and systems design. Her experience covers software development, system architecture and engineering implementation, including research at the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) in Germany. At Xiangzi, she focuses on software design and business implementation.
These three backgrounds give us a broad perspective across algorithms, underlying systems, software products and AI applications. We care about technology and whether it can become a useful product that solves a business problem.
We are a small team with direct communication, close collaboration and quick validation. We prefer to spend our time turning ideas into working products and practical business applications.
